Q. How long does a counseling session last?
A
. A session usually lasts from 50-60 minutes.


Q. How much does a counseling session cost?
A
. 2010 rates are $195 for the intake session and $155 for each additional session. Testing is a separate charge and costs vary depending on the test. You can make payment with MasterCard, Visa, debit card, personal check or cash. In the Wausau office, please check in with receptionist to make payments. In the Stevens Point and Marshfield offices, you can make payment directly to your counselor. A $30 service charge will be applied for any check returned for insufficient funds. Our Office Manager will meet with anyone experiencing financial hardship to enable them to receive services. We will do our best to work with you to insure quality services in the most economical manner possible.


Q. Do you accept insurance?
A
. We are credentialed with most major insurance companies. Our Insurance Specialist will contact your insurance company prior to your first appointment to verify insurance coverage and benefits. As a service to you, we will submit claims to your insurance company. You are responsible for payment of all deductibles, co-insurance and co-pays.


Q. What should I know about my insurance benefits?

. HELPFUL INSURANCE TERMS

  • Deductible ? the dollar amount you are responsible for paying before your insurance company starts to pay
  • Co-pay ? A set dollar amount that is your responsibility per session.
  • Co-insurance ? A percentage of the amount charged for each session that is your responsibility.

COMMUNICATING WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY
Call the 800 number on your insurance card and ask for Customer Service or Claims. Have your explanation of benefits in front of you when you call. Speak courteously and confidently, keeping in mind that you have the right to be treated respectfully and have your questions answered. Write down the names of each person you speak with. Repeat back answers to confirm the information is correct. Make notes, including direct quotes. If your questions are not answered to your satisfaction, ask to speak to a supervisor. Inform our office of this information, as this will assist us in processing your claim more quickly.


IF YOU ARE DISSATISFIED WITH THE HELP RECEIVED FROM YOUR INSURANCE CO.
Communicate your concerns to your employer?s Human Resource Department. Ask them to contact the insurance company on your behalf. Communication between your employer who pays the premium and the insurance company insures you the benefits you deserve. You can also file a grievance with the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance at 1-608-266-3585.


IF YOU RECEIVE A QUESTIONNAIRE FROM YOUR INSURANCE CO.
It is important that you answer any questionnaire you receive from your insurance company as soon as possible or they may refuse to pay your claim, in which case you become responsible for the full amount.


Q. Do you accept Badger Care?
A
. Our licensed counselors are all medicaid certified.  We do accept most Badger Care plans.  To be sure that you have coverage please contact our office and talk with our insurance specialist.


Q. Do you have Christian Counselors?
A
. All of our counselors share a Christian belief system.


Q. Do you offer marriage counseling?
A
. Our counselors provide both couple and individual counseling regarding marital issues.


Q. Do you offer counseling for children?
A
. Yes, most of our counselors work with children depending on age and circumstance.


Q. What are your office hours?
A
. Our Wausau office hours are 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. The hours for the Stevens Point and Marshfield offices vary. Office staff is located in the Wausau office.


Q. How do I schedule an appointment?
A
. Appointments for all office locations are made by calling the Wausau office at 715-842-0944 or 1-800-236-3792. When calling to set up your first appointment, please have your insurance card available. We will be asking for information from the card so that we can verify insurance benefits for you.
